Our theme verse for our time in Titanyen (Tee-ton-yay), Haiti comes from 2 Corinthians 12:9 where it says, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me."  We are in the perfect place to see God's grace displayed in abundance in our lives as we reside for these 3 months at Grace Village Orphange.
And we're off...

"Good Bye America, see you in a few months!"

"Hello Haiti!"

We have now been in Haiti for 35 days!  Things aren't always as planned or hoped, including the internet service here at Grace Village.  We are back up and running, thanks to Clinton from MN who graciously came down to save us and get us connected once again to the world wide web.  (Thanks Clinton!!)

Michael and I want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who helped make it possible for us to be here serving Haitians for this time!  To our friends, family and church families-Salem, Faith Baptist and Bethany Baptist-we are grateful.  We stepped out in faith knowing we could trust God and His plans for our lives.  When we felt the calling on our hearts to venture to Haiti again, this time for an extended period, our hearts were willing and we had to trust that He would provide and work out all the details.  Through our "village" back home of all you generous supporters, He made it possible!

Here are a few pictures of what we've been up to for the last month:

An exciting new initiative through Healing Haiti:

Would you consider vacationing in Haiti?!

We just learned of an awesome new opportunity that is just starting!  Haiti is not what comes to mind when families think of for a vacation destination...but it's so beautiful and hospitable!!  The first "Haiti with Purpose" trip is set for 2 weeks from now.  Two American families are coming down for a vacation and staying at Kaliko Resort (pictured above) for 4 or 5 days.  They will enjoy the accommodations for a few days and then spend some of their vacation serving in some capacity!  How amazing??!!  Many people come to the other Carribean Islands for vacation, including the other side of Haiti; the Domican Republic.  Why not come to Haiti and support the economy and enjoy all the beauty that God made here for us to enjoy?
